Introduction

AI1952 develops and operates EatLens — an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracking app on Google Play. This policy is designed to comply with Google Play policies (Data Safety, Health Apps, AI-Generated Content, Account Deletion), GDPR, and CCPA where applicable. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. Who We Are

EatLens helps you track meals by photo or voice, using AI to estimate calories and macros, and provides insights and streaks to support healthy habits.

2. Information We Collect

• Account details — email and authentication (email/password or Google Sign-In)
• Profile & goals — age, gender, height, weight, activity goal, daily target
• Food & health data — meals, meal photos, calories, macros, weight, streaks
• Support messages you send us

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID, model, OS version)
• App usage (Firebase Analytics) and crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
• IP address and approximate region; language/timezone

• Precise GPS, contacts, SMS, or unrelated photos/files
• Government IDs, biometrics, or financial account numbers
• Payment card details — handled entirely by Google Play Billing

3. How We Use It

• Provide the service — estimate nutrition, track your day, generate insights
• Account management and cross-device sync
• AI processing (see Section 4)
• Analytics, stability, and marketing measurement
• Support, security/anti-sharing, and Google Play billing

4. AI Processing & Your Data

When you scan a meal photo or describe a meal by voice, that image or text is sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini via Firebase AI) to estimate items, calories, and macros. Data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. We do not use your prompts, photos, or descriptions to train our own models, and we do not store raw audio.

5. Health & Nutrition Data

EatLens is a wellness tool, not a medical device. Your food, calorie, weight, and goal data is used only to power your tracking experience. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, stored in your account (Firebase), and deletable anytime (Section 8).

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your data. We share only with:

• Google Firebase — auth, database, analytics, crash reporting, App Check
• Google (Gemini/Firebase AI) — your meal photo/description to generate estimates
• Google Play Billing — payments (we never see card details)
• Meta (Facebook) — limited app-event & device signals for ad measurement (Section 10)
• Legal authorities — where required by law

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase / Google Cloud. Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS; access is protected by Firebase Authentication and App Check (Play Integrity). No system is 100% secure — contact support@eatlens.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

8. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete it anytime:

• In-app: Settings → Delete account → type “delete” to confirm
• By email / web: request via support@eatlens.app or our account deletion page

9. Analytics & Diagnostics

• Firebase Analytics — anonymized usage events to improve the app and measure marketing
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports to fix bugs; no meal content included

Opt out of ad personalization in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

10. Advertising & Meta (Facebook) SDK

EatLens uses the Meta SDK to run and measure advertising campaigns.

• App events (install, open, sign-up, checkout, subscribe)
• Device & advertising identifiers (AAID, model, OS, app version)
• Install attribution

We never send your name, email, meal photos, food data, or AI results to Meta. Manage choices at facebook.com/adpreferences. This is declared in our Google Play Data Safety form.

11. Device Permissions

• Internet — required, to sync and reach the AI service
• Camera — optional, only when scanning a meal
• Microphone — optional, only for voice logging
• Notifications — optional, meal reminders and streak alerts
• Billing — required for subscriptions

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location you may access, correct, delete, or port your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw marketing consent. CCPA (California): know, delete, and opt out of “sale” (we do not sell data). Email support@eatlens.app; we respond to verified requests within 30 days.

13. Children’s Privacy

EatLens is not directed to children under 13 (or your country’s minimum age). We do not knowingly collect their data.

14. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in other countries, including the United States, where Google’s services operate, under appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).

16. Policy Changes

17. Google Play Data Safety

• Personal info (email); Health & fitness (meals, calories, weight); Photos (meal scans)
• App activity & diagnostics; Device or other IDs (Advertising ID)

• Diagnostics with Firebase; meal photo/description with Google (Gemini); device IDs & app events with Meta

• Encrypted in transit; deletion available in-app
